Steno-Clip

About

Steno-clip is a pinhole camera. It employs the darkroom principle to produce images. The camera uses a pinhole able to project light exactly like a modern scope to imprint the image on the film. The opening is made easy by a clip structure realized with a row of veneer sheets that enhances elasticity and avoids production waste.

Steno-clip is made of wood to recall nature, emphasizing the total absence of electronic components. The mechanism behind Steno-clip is simple: the film is set on the base, which is inserted inside the external bodywork.

The solid wood structure doesn’t let light inside the box, allowing the entire system to function. The film position is adjusted by turning the handles on the top. Eventually, the front lid is opened, exposing the pinhole: a ray of light imprints this way the image on the film.

Step 1: Insert the film

Step 2: Cover up

Step 3: Turn to position the film correctly

Step 4: Open up to let the light in and take the picture
